RE: MAC TONNIES POST-MAC-BLUES

No, I am still in hiatus in regards to blogging however, I received something in an email this evening that I thought many of you would like to see.

I'm essentially going to send you to two addresses, since I think you might like to bookmark both of them. The first address will lead you to a second, which will then address an article that is going to be published in the New York Times about Mac and his online legacy.

Here is the first address. Click on the macbots link.
macbots

Once in, bookmark that blog you're in for a looksee someday and then click on the highlighted link in the only paragraph called POST-MAC-BLUES.

When it opens, it will then be self explanatory and provide the link you'll need in order to read the New York Times article now, which will not be published in the paper until January 9th.

On another note, I am working now. I got a Job at Marshalls. Nothing earth shattering $$ wise but at least I'm working. As well as working for them, I invested in a WordPerfect for DOS and will soon be typing Court reports (at home of all things) for an attorney service. It's a pay for page kind of thing so that means I'll be typing my fingers to the bones in order to make ends meet while I continue working for Marshalls.

What's really killing me are the gas prices. I'm having to drive 45 minutes to and from work each day. Our gas here in Cook County, IL is currently $3.39 a gallon. Ouch! I swear, I think I'm working for the petroleum companies sometimes. lol

Anyway, please read the New York Times article. It's very, very interesting and I am ecstatic that they used Mac as their example for that article. It's quite a few pages long but a very good read about what happens to our online work if we suddenly die such as Mac did at 34 years old.

VIDEO: My First Digital Death: The Technology of Consciousness; An Ode to Mac Tonnies, by Rita King

Author and Futurist Mac Tonnies died in his sleep in October 2009 at the age of 34. This video, produced by Rita J. King is a memorial to his life and energy and his belief that we are exquisite machines.

After five years of communicating constantly in the digital realm, Mac admitted that he was somewhat agoraphobic, afraid to leave Kansas City and yet hungering for the coastal life of New York or San Francisco. In a series of conversations in 2009, I convinced him to come to New York and visit. He feared that he would no longer be viewed as an interplanetary man of mystery but rather as a bald guy with two cats who loves to ponder extraterrestrial intelligence. Read more at the following link.

My First Digital Death: The Technology of Consciousness

Among the legacies of Mac Tonnies' short life is his final book, The Cryptoterrestrials, which you can find on the right hand sidebar.

MAC TONNIES BOOK - THE CRYPTO-TERRESTRIALS - AVAILABLE IN MARCH!

All photos are live links you can click on to learn more
blog

“If evidence for the Extraterrestrial Hypothesis has failed to surface—despite decades of hard work and diligent investigations—then maybe we should consider the notion that we are looking for the answers in all the wrong places. Instead of looking up, maybe we should be looking around us. And, perhaps, even below us, too.” – From the Foreword by Nick Redfern, author of On the Trail of the Saucer Spies

“The Cryptoterrestrials is the most refreshing speculation on the paranormal I've seen in ages. The ideas in this book will be harvested by science-fiction writers and TV shows like Fringe for decades. Even skeptics will have a great time reading this well written book of wild conjecture. Mac Tonnies' final Fortean
landmark is the Book of the Damned for the 21st century. Fans of the paranormal: be there or be square.” – John Shirley, author of Bleak History

“This book is an honest pursuit of ideas that might lead to some greater understanding of the paranormal and the existence of an apparent non-human intelligence…Mac Tonnies cuts through much of the self-satisfi ed, bloated fundamentalist fat of the last fifty years with the deft touch of a surgeon and the
encyclopedic knowledge of a veteran.” – From the Afterword by Greg Bishop, author of Project Beta

By Kathleen McKenzie Houston, TX United States - Compared to other sci-fi authors, Mac Tonnies ranks with P.K. Dick, William Gibson, Neal Stephenson, and Bruce Sterling. He is thought-pivotingly original. If you wallow in science fiction like I do, you'll eat this book up.In this short 133-page book, Tonnies' ethereal ideas strikingly contribute to the advance of science fiction. In the introductory story, "Reflections of a Specimen," Tonnies wow-ed me with a new take on clique leaders. He launches into a seeming takeoff on William Gibson's style yet holds his own by injecting his own provoking vision. The other stories in this book are just as juicy. There's no way you can have a favorite because they're all so invitingly well-developed and original. Absolutely fantastic. This is a book come before its time.

blog

By Mike Pacasi - More than twenty years ago, the Viking I and II spacecrafts initiated an era of sensational and mysterious discoveries about the red planet. These new mass of alien information has not been fully understood nor explained satisfactorily by the mainstream scientists. How to perceive and understand alien life or even alien intelligence? Mac Tonnies showed with this book that he is one of the exponents of the so called internet micro culture of hobbyists (his words), authors and independent researchers who are successfully giving a consistent alternate vision of the Martian and many other extraterrestrial mysteries. This book is inspired, dense with a multitude of new accessible ideas and showed that it is set to become the basic introductory handbook of the next step of the human evolution. If we fail to democratically understand what is going to come, to expand our intelligence, and at the same time to preserve our good moral and feelings, we will not deserve the future, we will probably die as a technological civilization. Planet Mars is gently showing us the right way to the stars. If you want to take the red pill, read this book. Don't be afraid, the future belongs to the mind opened courageous guys.

Mac's blog, Posthuman Blues is still up and you can visit it here.

VIDEOS: GEORGE NOORY WITH MAC TONNIES - ALIEN HYPOTHESES - ON COAST TO COAST - Parts 1 - 6

R.I.P. Mac, you'll be sorely missed

Author, blogger and Fortean researcher Mac Tonnies argued that the ET hypothesis (that aliens are visiting our world from other star systems) is somewhat of an outmoded concept, and the truth may be stranger than we can imagine, involving a myriad of overlapping explanations. The notion of parallel worlds has gained credence in the scientific world, and the aliens could represent a kind of symbiosis with beings from another dimension, he noted. The so-called ETs could be a species of intelligent non-humans, or "Cryptoterrestrials" (the title of his forthcoming book) who covertly share our planet with us. Because aliens are typically described as a bipedal and human-like species, it suggests to him they have developed here on Earth.

Yet, the prototypical alien-- the spindly, big headed 'grey,' has the physique to be an ideal astronaut with few physical requirements-- perhaps they were designed for space travel, Tonnies commented. Cultural associations also influence how the aliens are perceived. In Zimbabwe for instance, entities wearing silvery suits associated with metallic craft have been described as the "ghosts of ancestors," he detailed. Regarding the alien's reported hybridization program, we could be dealing with something beyond the understanding of our neurological hard-wiring, he said.

Tonnies sees humans themselves in a kind of transitional state, eventually merging with technology and becoming more evolved and compassionate. He also talked about how some of the artifacts on Mars, such as at Cydonia, are a genuine scientific mystery. While not yet definitive proof of ET presence, they merit serious study, he said. - YouTuber SetYouFreee
