VIDEOS: THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA SUPPORTS SHAG HARBOUR INCIDENT SOCIETY

SHAG HARBOUR, NOVA SCOTIA- August 5, 2008 - Residents and visitors to Shag Harbour will have the opportunity to take part in the Shag Harbour Incident Festival, thanks to an investment by the Government of Canada.

Gerald Keddy, Member of Parliament (South Shore-St. Margaret's), on behalf of the Honourable Josee Verner, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Status of Women and Minister for La Francophonie, today announced funding for the Shag Harbour Incident Society.

Funding of $2,000 will help the Society organize the Shag Harbour Incident Festival, which will commemorate the famous Shag Harbour Incident, a historical and well documented sighting of an unidentified flying object in the skies above Shag Harbour which later crashed in nearby waters. Since the sighting in 1967, the area has attracted numerous visitors and researchers. The Shag Harbour Incident Festival will take place on August 8 and 9, 2008, and will feature lectures, artisan displays, tours of the site, and other activities.

"The Government of Canada is pleased to announce funding for the Shag Harbour Incident Festival," said Minister Verner. "We are proud to partner with communities to support activities that celebrate local history, arts, and heritage."

"Local festivals like this one bring people of all ages and backgrounds together and contribute to building strong communities," said Mr. Keddy. "I am proud that our Government has taken decisive steps to strengthen our shared sense of heritage."

"We are very pleased to receive support from Canadian Heritage," said Cindy Nickerson, Chair of the Shag Harbour Incident Society. "This funding will help us present a festival to be enjoyed by all attending."

The Government of Canada has provided this funding through the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program of the Department of Canadian Heritage. This program, announced in September 2007, provides Canadians with more opportunities to take part in activities that present local arts and culture and celebrate local history and heritage.

Applications for funding for festivals to be held between January 1 and August 31, 2009, and for community historical commemorations between January 1 and December 31, 2009, must be received by September 1, 2008.

Summary: On the night of 04 October 1967, shortly after 11:00 PM, a UFO some 60 feet in diameter was seen to hover over the water near the tiny fishing village of Shag Harbour, Nova Scotia. The UFO, which displayed four bright lights that flashed in sequence, tilted to a 45-degree angle and descended rapidly towards the water's surface. Upon impact, there was a bright flash and an explosive roar.

We all knew it would happen.

At least some of us who’ve been around Ufology for a while knew it was inevitable: that even bloggers who claim membership in our diverse UFO community would snipe at Dr. Edgar Mitchell.

Because of the coverage he received,they got envious, and so they couldn’t restrain themselves and rushed to marginalize his statements. They even insinuated Dr. Mitchell was lying.

Remember, while many of these negative bloggers seem to pack the integrity of a card-carrying Bushee, Dr. Edgar Mitchell’s integrity has never been questioned by NASA, or anyone else of merit. Mitchell has demonstrated over the decades his integrity and intelligence --showing more of both than all these blogging jakals put together.

Why do UFO researchers and bloggers - who both think that there is something significant in the UFO phenomenon, rush to marginalize the statement of an authentic American hero like Dr. Edgar Mitchell.

It appears to be because they are jealous and because they’re the psychological type who must be right. And so they lower themselves,and our entire community, by using the same debunker tactics. For instance: I’ve never in my 45 years around the UFO phenomenon, read where any debunker has ever apologize to a UFO witness for any statement they have made which turned out to be wrong. Never! And that profile is a statement of truth unto itself.

And it looks from here like several claimed pro-Ufology bloggers owe one of our American heros and greatest astronauts an unconditional apology.

Of course Joe Capp wasn’t the only one to step up to the plate for Dr. Edgar Mitchell. My absolute favorite comment in all blogs and online magazine articles came from Greg Boone at UFO Mafia. Greg states, "Therefore if one were to question Dr. Mitchell’s character one would best in my book be ready to step outside to the alleyway. I’d be the first one waiting for you."

Joe mentioned something about certain bloggers rushing to marginalize the statement of an authentic American hero like Dr. Edgar Mitchell. I've viewed a few hundred articles about Dr, Edgar Mitchell's recent statement on the 23rd and it was more than just bloggers. Mainstream media was guilty of such as well and even more so.

Obviously, I wholeheartedly agree here with Joe. Unfortunately, as well as marginalizing, the writers failed to give the readers a more thorough explanation as to Dr. Ed Mitchell’s interests in the paranormal and parapsychology. In the process of omitting such information, they left this American hero looking like something reenacted off of an Enquirer Magazine cover.

So you see, it’s not only the mainstream media and online news that take pot shots at people who they know nothing about on a personal level, this also happens right here within the UFO community and about as often. What it does when they jump in alongside mainstream media with a 'nut' about what was just said by a notable personality regarding UFOs and aliens, it makes us all look like the cranks and weirdos that Stephen Hawking said we are.

If you wish to discount Dr. Edgar Mitchell's cancer cure performed by remote viewing consider this first. It has become well known that the mind can heal the body. This can even be done with a placebo given to a patient without the patient knowing it. When a patient is cured with a placebo this took place with the mind. Imagine for the moment that Dr. Mitchell healed himself not by remote viewing, but by simply believing that this can happen and I AM being healed. And he was because he believed that he was. That is as well a placebo affect and it is said that placebos work as often as pharmaceuticals. The FDA even states, "For a given medical condition, it's not unusual for one-third of patients to feel better in response to treatment with placebo".

NEW UFO MYSTERY SURFACES - THE I-TEAM WITH GEORGE KNAPP

A large object with a turquoise hue plummeted out of the sky earlier this summer and plowed into the earth south of Las Vegas.

Eyewitnesses say this was no meteorite, especially since a bunch of helicopters hauled it away.

The I-Team's George Knapp has been talking to people who saw it.

The object was seen in the early morning hours of May 14. It appeared to crash into the ground just west of the Colorado River. And that's when things got interesting for residents of the area.

Somewhere in the rough terrain just west of the Colorado River and south of Needles is a point of impact, maybe some burn marks, created by something that fell from the sky. Frank Costigan saw it because he got up at 3 a.m. to let his cat out -- a fiery object that flashed across the sky, but it wasn't a meteor he says.












"It was bright, bright enough that it illuminated the ground," he said.

For seven years, Costigan worked as the chief of airport security at L.A.X. He says the mystery object flew out of the north east, heading southwest, traveling very fast, but at one point it slowed down, then sped up again.

"It went behind a hill, and I waited to see if I could hear it crash because as big as it was, it was bound to make noise," he said.

But he didn't hear a crash. Hours later, David Hayes, the owner of KTOX Radio in Needles, was coming to work when he spotted an odd formation of dark vehicles getting off the highway. He drew a picture of the lead vehicle, a large truck with a dome on top and a black structure that reminded him of a stealth fighter.

"It seemed like it was some kind of surveillance vehicle -- four-wheel drive. It had government plates, and behind it were a couple of vans that looked like support vehicles," said Hayes.

The men inside had a military bearing, Hayes said, but weren't in uniform. He made eye contact with one of the drivers and the guy followed him. Later in the day, one of the vehicles was parked outside the station, seemingly conducting a surveillance of the place.










"These guys staring you down had a 'Men in Black' feel to it?" asks Knapp.

"Absolutely. Very serious, serious as a heart attack," said Hayes.

Coincidentally, Costigan, the ex-cop, works on investigations for Hayes. When he came in to the radio station, he told Hayes about the thing he had seen in the sky, and Hayes told him about the Men in Black.

Then they got another piece of the puzzle -- a call from a man who lives in a houseboat on the river, who said he saw the fiery object -- that it had crashed about 100 yards west of the river, that it landed with a thump. Hayes says he's known the witness for years by the name Bob on the river. Bob thought a plane had crashed and tried to call 911 but his cell wouldn't work, so he moved his boat out into the river, and then heard the helicopters.

In an interview with journalist Linda Moulton-Howe, Bob says he saw at least five helicopters flying in formation, including a large sky crane. The crane picked up the oval shaped object, still glowing, and flew away, heading in the direction of Las Vegas. One odd detail, the choppers arrived only 17 minutes after the object crashed. He described it to Hayes.












"It was about the size of a semi-trailer, he says, oblong shaped thing," said Hayes.

Out of the blue, the station got a call from a friend in Laughlin who said the Laughlin Airport had been inundated on the night of the crash with so-called Janet planes. That's the airline that flies workers to top secret Area 51. Costigan says the airport could not confirm this because no one is on duty after 6 p.m. at night, not even in the tower.

The black vehicles have left Needles. Bob the houseboat guy can't be found either.

"The fact that there were people here the next day, it was almost like they were doing some sort of cleanup or whatever. The point is, something definitely happened.

The I-Team phoned nearly every agency we could think of to see if they had received any report or knew anything. We were not surprised to learn that no one knew anything.

Here's the list -- police agencies in three states, the Laughlin Airport, the weather service, the FAA and several military bases.

A military watchdog group found a public record showing there was at least one army helicopter in the air in that area at that time. The helicopter, oddly enough, is listed as being attached to a U.S. base in Europe.

We are filing freedom of information requests and will report back when we get responses.
