ISRAELI UFO WAS SPY SATELLITE ROCKET BOOSTER

Widespread fears were sparked over central Israel Tuesday as the citizens thought that their nation was under attack by Iran, Syria or perhaps aliens.

Comet and satellite guru Robert D. Matson lives in Los Angeles California and is well known as the discoverer of hundreds of telescopic comets and over a thousand asteroids.

Mr. Matson deserves some congratulations for figuring this out since many were and still are struck with fear in Israel.

Matson's calculations show that it was an old booster stage of a rocket that launched an Israeli spy satellite into space in 2007, whose orbit of the booster stage finally decayed. The booster was headed for the sea in the direction of Alexandria, Egypt. The 3rd stage of the Shavit rocket was launched (Ofeq-7) from Palmachim Air Force Base on June 10th, 2007.

Mr. Matson's discovery was reported to Jerusalem and Tel Aviv newspapers and it's quite ironic, that it was Israel's own spy satellite space junk that scared their citizens. It is quite possible that Israel did not want to give the press any information regarding their own spy satellite activities for national security reasons.

This comes only one day previous to Iran test-fired nine long- and medium-range missiles Wednesday during war games that officials said aimed to show the country can retaliate against any U.S. and Israeli attack, state television reported.

Gen. Hossein Salami, the air force commander of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards, said the exercise would "demonstrate our resolve and might against enemies who in recent weeks have threatened Iran with harsh language," the TV report said.

Wednesday's war games were being conducted at the mouth of the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic waterway through which about 40 percent of the world's oil passes. Iran has threatened to shut down traffic in the strait if attacked.

The report showed footage of at least three missiles firing simultaneously, and said the barrage included a new version of the Shahab-3 missile, which officials have said has a range of 1,250 miles and is armed with a 1-ton conventional warhead.

I think that Mr. Matson is wrong because SHAVIT R/B
US Space Command ID: 31602
could still be found on heavens-above, today 9-Jul-08 orbit 189x199.
True it due to crash any day now but it hadn't done so yet.
and as an Israeli I can tell you that this report is very exaggerated, there was no panic on the contrary people made a lot of jokes about it on the net.

Maybe people made jokes around you personally but if you were to peruse the Internet you would find the contrary. And what are people? They include children.

Furthermore, you said "you think" that the booster could still be found in the heavens above but you show no proof. Wouldn't it behoove you to show proof before even commenting since Mr. Matson is not questioning his statement with "I think"?

The info here was from a post I made of personal email correspondence with Rob Matson and the author of this blog picked it up. First, Heavens Above, etc., will not be updated so quickly. That said, Rob remains convinced that whatever show was seen is from the booster. He notes that the epoch has been updated after the event by the government tracking group, but a very plausible explanation is that a portion with a higher drage coefficient detached and there is still more show to come.

You stated, "The info here was from a post I made of personal email correspondence with Rob Matson and the author of this blog picked it"

That's correct and it was me. I had to because it made too much sense and I am so tired of websites screaming UFO when we know the odds are 'other'. I'm not a debunker certainly and instead realize that other explanations are usually more feasible. Matson has come into play on UFO sightings (that weren't) more than a few times so I already knew who he was.

Anyway, I was surfing around trying to find what I could about the supposed meteorite, when I ran across your comment in that other blog. In what you had to say - 'what got my attention', was the comment that you made about sending that info to various places over there as to give them a little more insight as to relieve their fears. They woke up to worse fears this morning in regard to the missiles so they didn't need to hear anything but good news. I can just picture their demeanor after having that happen the very next day. It's not like they don't have enough to worry about. I sure as hell wouldn't want to live in fear like that with a next door nation showing their brawn. So I figured since you went out of your way to let them know what you did that I would too because I can very effectively. Plus, I'm a mom so I'm more concerned with the reactions of children. I know that adults can fend for themselves emotionally but kids can't.

Google has a love affair with my blogs and I don't know why but they pick me up for their search engine every single cotton pickin time I post and they do so immediately so I knew it would get a lot of attention over there and it did. I ran it in my other blog as well and Google picked that up too directly after posting it. I was hoping for one thing, which was that others would pick it up and copy it out and get it moving around the Internet, which is commonplace certainly so that mainstream media eventually grabs the info and runs with it so that a larger number can become more informed more quickly. I had that comment of yours from Mr. Matson in 4 locations, not one and three of the four get humongous hits so that's the main reason.

"higher drage coefficient detached and there is still more show to come"
Totally possible and I guess heads up over there again in the near future - lol

Lastly, it would be super if you would comment on any new information you may get. Thanks MexicoDoug.

The topic of conversation is meteor vs rocket booster or meteor vs a portion with a higher drage coefficient detached causing a meteor looking affect.

Any comment outside of that will not be posted and there is no way for me to omit part of your comment.

This article is not about Israel, specific governments or specific people.

the missing link:
http://www.heavens-above.com/orbit.aspx?satid=31602
as of 10-Jul-08 Shavit R/B is still ~150 KM above us.
it will re-enter soon, I wonder if it will be seen.

Great article you got here. I'd like to read a bit more about that matter. The only thing it would also be great to see on this blog is some pics of such gizmos as gps jammer.
